Roadside Service

What is Roadside Service?
Roadside Service is a mobile mystery mission. Just think road trip meets missions experience. Through service projects and random competitions students work together as a team to complete the task before them. Every day students experience awesome worship and inspiring devotionals that will challenge them to look inward, outward, and upward.

When is Roadside Service?
Roadside Service is April 5th-10th, 2010

Transportation, Lodging, Meals
We will be traveling to various surprise locations. We will be staying at local churches in the areas that we will be serving. We are bringing our own food and supplies. All meals will be provided except for two meals. Students should bring money for the two meals and any additional funds for snacks or souvenirs.

Is This Trip For Everyone?
The answer is "NO" this trip is not for everyone. We need individuals ready to serve in any way they can. The nature of this trip is hard work and lots of it. Students need to be willing to follow directions and be a servant in any way they can. There is no room for goof-offs or someone looking to take a nice vacation. We are going to have a great time, but the only way for our trip to succeed is if everyone's heart is in the right place. This trip is all about team work and if you are looking to spend time or room with your friends this may not be the trip for you.

What Kind of Stuff Will We Be Doing?
Well it's kind of a secret. But what we can say is that we will be involved in several different types of ministry projects throughout the week. Each day the team will discover the mission that they were destined to fulfill. In the past, we've done everything from playing with orphans, feeding the homeless, to mowing lawns. On this trip you will experience what it means to serve people who are less fortunate and leave them with a hope for their future.

Pre-Trip Meetings

The three training meetings are mandatory!!! We will be training you and preparing you for this awesome ministry experience. If YOU CAN'T COMMIT TO THE MEETINGS DON'T SIGN UP!

Mark your Calendars for other important dates
Roadside Weekend - April 3 & 4th - our students will be commissioned in "Big Church" where they will pray for us.
Roadside Celebration Potluck - April 18th in the Roadhouse after service. This will be a time for parents & students to reflect on the trip and see how God work in our lives and the lives of others.

Registration

Registration begins February 7th. Registration is all online. The total cost of the trip is $275. The cost includes transportation, meals, lodging, and supplies. All money can be raised by writing support letters to family and friends. In fact we'll even teach you how to do this. At the time of sign-up only a $50 deposit will be due, but the balances are due on or before April 2nd. Registration will close on March 1st or when the trip is full.

IMPORTANT!!!

You, the student, MUST fill out and submit the Roadside Application form (Short term ministry application). Once you complete the form it emails directly to Nola (our administrative assistant). Even though you register online...we do not consider you to be fully registered until we receive your Roadside Application and Online Registration. Due to the nature of this trip we reserve the right to refuse attendance. Once again...you are NOT considered for the event unless we receive both forms.
To Summarize:
1) Fill out the registration form.
2) Fill out the "Short Term Ministry Application" form.
PRIORITY WILL GO TO THOSE WHO HAVE BOTH FORMS TOGETHER
